Within the ancient Apulian olive trees rises up one of the oldest masseria farmhouses, called Masseria Brancati, which dates back to the early Medieval period or even to the Roman one, which existence is evidenced by a very old underground olive mill. The farm is allocated in a gentle and quiet countryside of centuries-old olive trees, planted 18 meters away from one another in ordered rows which were already been appointed in Latin epoch by Horace and Columella. The farms produces and sells extra virgin olive oil quality superior product. The olive, known by the botanical name Olea europaea, meaning "European olive", is a species of small tree in the family Oleaceae, found in the Mediterranean Basin. The olive's fruit, also called the olive, is of major agricultural importance in the Mediterranean region as the source of olive oil. The tree and its fruit give their name to the plant family.
