Haiti. Province of Ouest. Port-Au-Prince. During a political demonstration, organised by the university students, against the president of Haiti Jean-Bertrand Aristide and his political party Lavalas, the students shout, sing, dance and express their will for a change of government. The figure of Aristide is represented as a dead-alive man from the vaudou religion, dressed in a white cloth, walked around with a rope and constantly whiped by his master. The police controls the good progress of the demonstration by escorting the students and prohibiting any disorders and clashes with the supporters " chimères" of Jean-Bertrand Aristide. © 2003 Didier Ruef
