Togo. Maritime Region. Lomé. The Akodessawa Fetish Market is the world's largest voodoo market. It is located at Akodessawa which is a district of Lomé. The market sells fetishes used in vodún religious practice such as phacochoerus heads and other products of dead animals. Phacochoerus is a genus in the family Suidae, commonly known as warthogs. They are pigs who live in open and semi-open habitats, even in quite arid regions, in sub-Saharan Africa. Vodún or vodúnsínsen is an African traditional religion practiced by the Aja, Ewe, and Fon peoples of Togo. 26.11.2024 © 2024 Didier Ruef
