Albania. Elbasan County. Labinot-Fushe. Murals, statues, architectural oddities and historical relics greet visitors at Fish City, a complex owned by the company Rozafa. In darkened tunnels of an old military base once stuffed with weapons, there are now hundreds of blue barrels filled seafood ready for sale and export as a surreal repurposing of Albania's Cold War past. Above one of the tunnel, a giant statue of Gjergj Kastrioti (c. 1405 – 17 January 1468), commonly known as Skanderbeg, who was an Albanian feudal lord and military commander who led a rebellion against the Ottoman Empire in what is today Albania. A young boy runs up the hill. Labinot-Fushë is a village and a former municipality in the Elbasan County. 29.09.2024 © 2024 Didier Ruef
