Switzerland. Geneva. Justine is a french citizen and a transsexual woman. She holds her teckel dog Trek in her arms and is a homeless woman seated on a bed in the fallout shelter Richemont. The bunker was constructed as civil defense measures during the Cold War and is a unit of the Civil Protection. Switzerland is unique in having enough nuclear fallout shelters to accommodate its entire population. Transsexualism describes the condition in which an individual identifies with a gender inconsistent or not culturally associated with their assigned sex, i.e. in which a person's assigned sex at birth conflicts with their psychological gender. 8.02.2014 © 2014 Didier Ruef
