Kazakhstan. Kok Aral. A fisherman carries his rowing boat on his motor bike. Due to an an ambitious undertaking through dams construction, like in Kok Aral, which aims to reverse one of the world's man-made environmental disaster and bring back the Aral sea, the water is returning to the Kazakh Aral sea (small Aral). The men can fish today where a year ago the dried up (dry bed) Aral Sea was a dry landscape due to overuse of water resources started at the time of former Soviet Union. Kok Aral is located in the Kyzyl Orda Province. © 2008 Didier Ruef .
