USA. Louisiana. New Orleans. St Bernard Parish. Chalmette area. Aftermath of hurricane Katrina. Cars destroyed by the floods, like all houses of the area. The houses were flooded and the ground is covered by oil spillt over from the Murphy Oil Refinery plant. The area is empty and all its inhabitants have left the town. The people could no longer and ever live again in the houses because of the destructions due to the floods and the oil. The entire area needs to be bulldozed before any new construction can be built. Oil disaster. Pollution and contaminated land. Household waste. Destruction of the urban american way of life. Industrial pollution and toxic waste. © 2005 Didier Ruef
