Switzerland. Canton Ticino. Verzasca valley. An old picture of the village of Vogorno before the construction of the Verzasca dam in 1965. The wall and the old road remain visible. The post office, the restaurant (osteria) and a private house were destroyed by an explosion caused by the army before the water came. Empty reservoir of Vogorno lake. The reservoir is dried due to the first renovation works since dam’s construction. The Contra Dam, commonly known as the Verzasca Dam, is an arch dam on the Verzasca River. The dam creates the Vogorno lake, a water surface area of 1.68 km2. 30.01.22 © 2022 Didier Ruef
