The town of Slavutich was created after the catastrophe which took place on April 1986 at 1.23 am with the explosion of reactor No 4 at Chernobyl atomic power station. Slavutich is distant 60 km from the power station and was newly built after the evacuation of the inhabitants from both towns of Pripyat and Chernobyl. © 2006 Didier Ruef
