Cape Verde. Saõ Vincente. A road to the top of Monte Verde (Green mountain), a mountain in the eastern part of the island. At 744 m elevation, it is the island's highest point. The mountain is located 6 km east of the city centre of Mindelo. View on Mindelo (L) and Baia das Gatas (R). <br />
The nearest island is Santo Antão (background) to the southeast, separated by the sea channel Canal de São Vicente. The island of Santo Antão (Portuguese for "Saint Anthony") is the northwestern most island of Cape Verde. At 785 km2 (303 sq mi), it is the largest of the Barlavento Islands group.
